So, how about joining us as we photograph super groups of Humpback whales, mega pods of Dolphins, thousands of Albatross, and night dives with Mako sharks? That is just the marine segment!
What if we add to this flying for many hours over intact East African primary forest, seeing herds of elephants reclaiming grasslands, and watching the thousands upon thousands of antelope returning to a former stronghold?
And finally, meet an incredible group of people who now protect this Eden, educate the next generation, and give communities a new opportunity to live with, rather than kill, wildlife.
Tune into Call to Earth – Ashes to Eden and watch these words come to life.
Each piece tells the story of a specific species, a place, and a moment in time that I’ve captured through my lens.
For my entire life, I have been passionately driven by a love of the natural world.
As my appreciation for our planet and its most iconic subjects evolved, through my photography, I began to try to bring out the art that is in nature. I moved away from action photography and began to focus on finding mood, depth, and emotion in each work’s conceptualisation.
Over time, I have learnt what makes each of my subjects unique, where and when to find them, as well as what elements I can add to an image that not only brings out a strong artistic feel, but also which details help to tell their story.
Over the course of more than three decades, I sadly have seen many of my most famous subjects vanish, and as such, many of my best-known photographs are now irreplaceable. It is a reality I must face each and every day when I think back to the time spent in their company. However, it has also created a resolve in me to do whatever I can to highlight those that remain in as magnificent a way as is possible.
All the subjects I work with are completely wild. In many cases, it has taken me decades to come to know them, earn their trust, and capture their essence.
I have a deep respect for my subjects, and through my lens, I am a conduit to conveying this respect. To do this, I most often shoot with engaging angles, intimately close to wildlife where I place my audience at eye level, and on an equal, with my subjects. I do this not only to create impact, but also to highlight how I view them, at the very least, my counterparts.
Finally, I do not look to take a wildlife photograph; I look to create an artwork. I believe the greatest artist is in nature itself. Look at how each day the clouds change, the sea state evolves, the sun’s rays differ, and the seasons bring a different colour palette.
Art in nature is all around us, and I merely use each day’s canvas to bring it out.
By using my photography as a conduit, I seek to create awareness as to what incredible icons we share our planet with.
Then, to tell these iconic creatures’ stories in a way that is as aesthetically and artistically engaging as possible. In doing so, I wish the holder of my artwork to be inspired by the moment I pushed the trigger and create a desire in them to help conserve our fragile planet.
Secondly, I do not wish to be a photographer profiting from my art, but rather for the funds to be a direct contribution to saving our planet’s wildest and most threatened places.
In this endeavour, all profits go directly towards our purchasing of land in Southern Africa for the preservation and rehabilitation of habitat and biodiversity in areas where we can add to existing conservation efforts. By helping to create large unbroken wildlife corridors, we can help to mitigate against the pressures of a changing world.
Through partnerships with incredible organisations like Six Rivers Africa, we’re working to ensure that these wild places remain protected for generations to come.

These limited-edition prints are aimed at being more than just owning beautiful works of art. By purchasing one, you’re directly contributing to the conservation of our planet by helping us buy land to protect habitat.
